The point of health and How to Be wholesome

The definition to be "healthy" means:

"Possessing or enjoying good health or a sound and vigorous mentality: a healthy body; a healthy mind."

Good Mental Health

This definition sums all up. If we do not possess or enjoy good health and a vigorous mentality, we are losing out on the essence of life. health is our most prominent investment, our biggest asset, it's life or death. It's ironic how many habitancy take their health, their life for granted. They say they want to enjoy life to it's fullest, but yet they are destroying their own life themselves by their own lifestyles - drinking alcohol, eating unhealthy foods, being over-wight and taking designate medicine, or drugs. habitancy will say that they are "happy" the way they are living their lives (while drinking, being over-weight, taking drugs, and eating unhealthy), but how can they? A someone that is not healthy, is Not happy. You can have all the wealth and possessions to make you happy, but if you are unhealthy, they just won't enjoy them!! You won't have the energy, reasoning capacity, or appreciation for life to allow you to fully enjoy your lifestyle. By mentioning "mental capacity", I mean your mind won't be 100% free in your mind. Every someone with health issues worries to a safe bet degree in the back of their mind, no matter how small or large the health issue may be. Even alcoholics knows in the back of their minds that they probably shouldn't be drinking as much as they do. Now if they do something about the situation and act upon it is the prominent factor.

The point of health and How to Be wholesome

Every someone in the world will come over some kind of body issue. Not necessarily a life-threatening issue, maybe acne, or allergies. But all counts...it's how do we deal with even those issues. No body is perfect, no matter how exquisite some habitancy may think they are. You may flip straight through "Cosmo" or "Glamour" and see these literally thin models and wish to look like them. Do you know if they are healthy? No, all we see is the outside. You might look at "Sports Illustrated" and see models there and wish to have a "sexy" body like theirs, but do you know if they are healthy? No. It doesn't matter how good you look on the outside...sexy, curvey, thin, anyone your idea of looking "good" is, it is literally meaningless unless you are healthy on the inside!

Every unhealthy lifestyle choice that we make has an effect, whether now or in the future. In fact, most of the results of our daily unhealthy choices will literally surface in the future, even after we have made healthy changes. They are the consequences of our actions that we sometimes have to pay for. It all starts with a decision, and then literally doing what you set out to do. Of procedure it will be difficult and you will face temptations to go back to your unhealthy ways, and may even fail sometimes. But that is all part of success, you can't consequent unless you have failed before and know how to get back on track again. That is the attractiveness of success, learning from our mistakes. That is what being healthy is all about, learning about what we need to turn to allow ourselves enjoy life to it's fullest.

mental health maintain - How to Detect Absurd Thoughts Generated by Your Primitive Conscience

The human absurdity was a mysterious hypothesis that we couldn't understand for centuries.

Thanks to the research and the discoveries of the psychiatrist Carl Jung through dream interpretation, and to my research and discoveries chronic his work, we have a clear vision of what happens in the human mind.

Good Mental Health

Today we know that we have inherited a wild conscience in the biggest part of our brain, which remains in a primitive condition. It keeps trying to destroy the human side of our conscience through the use of absurdity in order to control our behavior.

mental health maintain - How to Detect Absurd Thoughts Generated by Your Primitive Conscience

This truth explains why so many thinking disorders and thinking illnesses torture our people throughout time.

The anti-conscience, our wild and primitive conscience, interferes in the functioning of the human side of our conscience when it manages to invade it. It starts sending us many absurd thoughts. However, their absurdity is camouflaged by a false logic, and by futility.

The anti-conscience is a sneaky demon that can think and put in order many traps for our human conscience. It justifies its absurdity by using selfish and futile concepts that unmistakably mislead our ignorant and naive human side.

In order to detect the absurd thoughts imposed by the anti-conscience you need to read my conclusions after chronic Jung's research in the unknown region of the human psyche. This is a complex branch that cannot be explained in only a few words.

In this short narrative I will give you a few lessons that will help you understand the most common absurd thoughts imposed by the anti-conscience, so that you may understand the danger you are exposed to, and so that I may give you basic protection.

The anti-conscience's intention is to destroy your capacity to judge reality. It uses your ego in order to make you desire people and things that you cannot possess, eliminating your good judgment.

Your ego is very demanding because it is a tool used by the anti-conscience.

The anti-conscience will make you believe that your ego must always be in a first-rate position. Then it will make you desire what you cannot possess.

In the continuation, your ego will put various obstacles in your way due to its pride, so that you may become frustrated. This means that the anti-conscience make you behave like a selfish monster, justifying your cruelty with the intention to safe your ego.

It will make you do the opposite of what you should do if you wanted to possess what you desire, so that you may become desperate.

In your despair, you will easier accept the next, even more absurd suggestions of the anti-conscience, making you believe that they will help you get out of trouble. However, you will be trapped in more difficult situations, foremost to craziness.

You must be very just whenever you have thoughts that are characterized by:

- Selfishness

- Desire of revenge

- Immorality

- Cruelty

- Pride

- Indifference to the human pain

- Greed

- Hypocrisy

- Futility

These thoughts are imposed by the anti-conscience without a doubt. You have to reject them and never effect the anti-conscience's suggestions.

Study the dream language with my dynamic method of instant dream translation, derived from Carl Jung's method of dream interpretation, and you'll be helped by the unconscious mind. You'll learn how to clearly detect the absurd thoughts of the anti-conscience, and how to wholly eliminate its hazardous influence.

mental health - How Does someone become Crazy?

Craziness starts with the invasion of the absurd article which exists in the wild side of the human conscience, however, how did this article come to be so absurd?

The first conscience had to face many problems and deceptions from the beginning of its existence. From deception to deception and from problem to problem, it became neurotic, hysterical, psychotic and then schizophrenic.

Good Mental Health

Now, let me show you with an example how someone starts becoming crazy.

mental health - How Does someone become Crazy?

First he is characterized by calm: he has only unavoidable thoughts in his mind, courage, good habit and honesty.

Then he is betrayed by someone, who also steals all his money.

Time passes, he manages to recuperate the money he lost by working very hard, when suddenly someone else betrays him again, and again steals all his money.

Time passes again and he makes money again and everything happens again: he loses everything because someone betrays him and steals all his money.

One day he appears on the front page of the local newspaper with the following headline: "Crazy man kills innocent boy only because he admired his wallet." The story continues as follows: "The crazy man was paying for something he bought, when the boy saw his wallet and told him that it was very nice. The man looked at him with anger, started shaking and sweating. Then, he took his pistol from his pocket, killing the boy with a shot. He ran away so fast that nobody could catch him at that time of the afternoon, when only a few population were walking in the streets".

What happened?

The crazy man became crazy because he lost everything many times and he carefully the boy as if he was an additional one thief.

Does it mean then that when someone faces recurring deceptions he or she will come to be crazy?

Yes and no: it depends on the level of domination of the wild side.

If the anti-conscience (wild conscience) hadn't invaded the human side of the conscience of the man in our example, he would not be so violent. His reaction could be aggressive if he carefully the boy a possible thief, but he would never come to the point of killing him for this reason.

The greatest violence expressed in cases of psychosis and schizophrenia has its roots in a very remote past, when the human conscience was beginning to understand that it was alive and beginning to think and desire many things.

It accumulated many aggressive reactions and became too violent. This is why after three serious deceptions, the man in our story, who inherited an absurd and wild conscience (anti-conscience), became a murderer.

He didn't need to pass straight through some deceptions in his life in order to come to the point of becoming so violent, exactly because all this violence was already accumulated in the wild part of his conscience - he simply inherited this article like everyone. Depending on the psychological type of everyone and the conditions of their lives, this article may or may not appear in the known surface.

If you want to keep your mental health for life and eliminate the wild anti-conscience for sure by transforming it into a unavoidable part of your human side, start paying concentration to the dreams you see when you sleep, take notes, and learn how to elucidate them according to the scientific recipe of dream interpretation, which is the unique one that exactly translates their meaning.

The wise unconscious mind that produces your dreams is the best psychologist and advisor you could find!

You will be guided and cured without difficulty if you are only depressed or neurotic, but with some delay if you are already hysterical, psychotic or schizophrenic; however you will find relief and cure for sure, no matter what your problem is: you only need to trust your natural doctor.

Omega 3 Health Benefits in Children

Omega 3 fatty acids have been known to provide a lot of health benefits for adults for many years (many heart conditions, mental problems and circulatory health problems can be cured or ameliorated by increasing the amount of omega 3s in one's diet). However, recent medical studies have shown the importance of providing your children with the proper amount of fatty acids. The human brain is made in large proportion of fats and many mental conditions are due to an improper balance of crucial fats.

These fatty acids are shown to greatly improve the children's brain activity and mental condition. A recent research has been conducted on two separate groups of small children, aged 9 to 12. The children in the first group had been given both omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids for a period of over half a year. After just 3 months, the scientists running the research had witnessed significant improvements in the first group of children's mental condition. Their attention levels, short term memory and reading skills have shown significant improvements, figures which were only to rise in the following months of the research.

Mental Health

Scientists are only yet beginning to understand how these acids improve the brain's activity, but the benefits of these fats on people's mental condition have been witnessed since early as the 1950's. Children at those times were given supplements as a single dose of code liver oil and malt. Besides improving the child's brain functioning, the omega oils (which are polyunsaturated essential fatty acids) have the significant anti-inflammatory properties, protecting the child's bones, joints and muscular tonus.

Omega 3 Health Benefits in Children

Medics and nutritionists have been recommended increasing the amount of fish in or diets for many years now for the benefit of fish oil in protecting the human body against heart and mental problems. Including a weekly serving of fish can guarantee you that you will be avoiding many medical problems. Increasing the amount of fish in the child's diet is the more important, because by eating more fish as they are younger, the benefits these fatty acids have will be prolonged in time.

The most efficient way of ensuring your child's recommended dose of omega fats and vitamins is fish oil supplements, especially cod liver oil. Besides the essential fats, cod liver oil supplements also include Vitamin A and Vitamin D, as well as Vitamin E. However, be sure not to exceed the recommended supplement dosage, as the child may get vitamin overdose. The recommended daily dose of Omega 3 fats is about 400-500mg.

The Importance of Money in Your Life and Your Mental Health

We all know how important money is. Without money we cannot do anything... However, if we only care about making money and nothing else, many parts of our lives remain unsatisfied, which can bring us various problems.

Money is not a purpose in life, but a way to manage living. It should not be more important for you than your dignity and your moral principles, and you had better accepting living poorly than steal money from other people or do dishonest things to achieve your goals.

Mental Health

On the other hand, you should not despise your personal life because you are too busy working in order to pay the bills, otherwise you won't have any family. For what would you work so hard, if in the end you would be left alone? Your wife or husband needs your attention too. Your children need your presence and advice.

The Importance of Money in Your Life and Your Mental Health

If you care only about having money, without dedicating any time to the people you love, they will abandon you. And in case you do make such mistake, your mental health will be damaged too. You'll start feeling depressed, and your depression could easily become a neurosis.

The importance of money in your life has to be very well defined.

If you are obsessed about being rich and about keeping your position, you are in a very dangerous area.

Pay attention to the way you use your money if you are too rich and powerful, because you may make many serious mistakes without understanding what you are doing, and nobody will correct you. Nobody will dare to go against you if you are a millionaire, and this means that you are free to do the most horrible things, without being prevented or punished for that.

Do you think that this position is a privileged one?

You are quite wrong if you do, because when you have the power to do whatever you desire, you let your selfishness dominate you. Besides that, the people that are near you may envy you and try to take your place, betraying you.

Never abandon your moral principles! You need them in order to keep your balance.

If you are too selfish and greed characterizes your life, learn how to be generous and help the poor. They need compassion because they haven't had the same opportunities that you had to make money, and they are not as talented as you are.

Now, in case you are like most people in this world, and you have no money, don't feel sad about that. Be patient and work, and you'll manage to make enough to pay for what you need. Don't let the lack of money become a nightmare in your life.

Make a plan and try to stick to it.

The lack of money is not the worst problem you could have. Be grateful for your health, and work without resentment.

Always keep in mind that the psychological problems provoked by immorality and greed are worse than poverty, and never complain about anything.

5 Ways to Promote Positive Mental Health

Positive mental health is a great way to ensure you lead a long, happy and healthy life. Maintaining your mental health is easier than most people think and will have a significant impact on your everyday life.

Would you like to have more energy? What about a good night sleep? How you would like to go an entire year without catching the flu once? Achieving a positive mental health state will not guarantee these things, but it sure will help.

Mental Health

Here are the top 5 things you can do to help promote positive mental health in you and your children:

5 Ways to Promote Positive Mental Health

1. Eat Healthy. Eating fast food 3 times a week and downing a few cold ones before bed might be easier than making a home-cooked meal and more enjoyable than drinking a cold glass of water but it won't do a whole lot for your health. Eating home-cooked foods (especially fruits and vegetables) and staying away from the fast food joints will help you achieve the healthy lifestyle you desire.

2. Drink Lots of Water. To maintain a healthy lifestyle, average individuals are expected to consume at least eight glasses of water a day. And while this seems like it may be a lot, it's actually not. Eight glasses is almost equivalent to filling up your water bottle a few times between waking up and going to bed. Remember, if you work out, you will need to increase your water intake to compensate for the water you're burning off while exercising. Drinking water will detoxify your body and restore it back to a healthy state - especially after drinking coffee or alcoholic beverages.

3. Kick the Bad Habits. We've already mentioned it a few times but eliminating significant alcohol intake will have positive results on your mental health. Likewise, kicking other bad habits like smoking and drinking considerable amounts of coffee will also help keep your mental health at its best.

4. De-Stress. Stress is one of the leading causes for poor mental health. When you're stressed out, your body has to work harder to keep up and, overtime, it will take its toll on your body and your brain. Next time something stressful happens, try lighting some candles and taking a bath. If that doesn't work for you, try letting off some steam by going to the gym or going for a run. Keeping a positive frame of mind will promote positive mental health and eliminate undue stress on your brain.

5. Book Regular Check-ups. Unfortunately, you can do all of the things listed above and still suffer from mental health problems. In fact, you might have a mental illness and not even know it. Make sure you're mental health is in good condition by booking regular appointments with your doctor. He/she will be able to confirm whether you're lifestyle is healthy or identify where you may need to make some changes.

Psychology and Mental Health - Indifference and Craziness

Many people believe that indifference is something natural and perfectly normal. However, what is indifference? What does it really mean?

Indifference is apathy, lack of sensitivity, lack of connection to the objective reality; in other words: it is an abnormality.

Mental Health

This means that one's natural reaction should never be indifference to the stimuli of the environment.

If you are indifferent to what is happening around you, this means that you are not paying attention to reality, which is first of all very dangerous, because if you don't pay attention to what is happening around you, you cannot defend yourself in case you are in trouble, since you don't notice anything.

Indifference is a cruel reaction to someone else's pain. If you don't care about other people's suffering, you may even provoke it to them, without understanding what you are doing.

If you are indifferent to your family, friends and all the people you know, you live alone, without any real contact with anyone.

The worst however is that indifference to what is bad and painful for somebody else is pure craziness. It is the beginning of the domination of your wild conscience in the conscious field.

When you are indifferent to other people's pain you become cold and cruel because your primitive and violent conscience dominates your human side. Then you gradually lose contact with the objective reality, coming to the point of murdering someone or committing suicide. Suicide is a hidden form of murder, because whoever commits suicide kills the people that care for them.

When you are dominated by the wild anti-conscience that destroys the human side of your brain, you are not able to understand the meaning of your actions.

You must prevent craziness and despair before it is too late!

Indifference and craziness are synonyms, even though our society believes that indifference is a neutral attitude.

Everyone is responsible for what is bad if they let it happen, and everyone has the moral obligation to save others when they are dying.

Indifference to what is terrible cannot help but be an absurd reaction before great danger. If you are indifferent to this warning, this is reason for real alarm.

Home Health Care Employment - 5 Things You Should Know

Home health care workers are people in charge of caring for the sick, disabled and elderly in their communities. The work is usually performed within the homes or residential facilities of the people receiving care. The positions are widely available in every city, town, and suburb around the country. In fact, wherever there are people, home health care workers are and will continue to be in demand.

There are a number of reasons that people choose to seek employment in the home health care industry. Some people are attracted by the chance to help others in a very direct, even intimate way. Other health workers like the idea that you can get a well-paying job even without having a high school diploma. And, some like the flexible work hours that the position entails.

Mental Health

It is a good thing that many people are interested in working in this industry. The demand for health care workers continues to grow, given that the population continues to age. There will always be elderly people who need care. And, there will always be people who are mentally or physically unable to care for themselves.

If you are considering working in this field, here are 5 things you should know:

1. Know the difference between home health aides and home care aides

There are various types of positions within this industry. However, in general terms, the two primary types of jobs you can get are that of home health aide and home (or personal) care aide.

Home health aides usually work for certified health agencies that receive government funding and therefore must comply with certain rules in order to continue to receive that funding. These workers are under the management of a nurse or other medical professional, and they provide some limited health services.

Meanwhile, home care aides work for various private and public agencies. They are supervised by a social worker or other non-medical managers. While they do receive supervision from time to time, most of the work they perform on a day to day basis is done on their own.

2. Understand the benefits

People who appreciate flexible, non-standard work hours will often choose this type of position: in fact, you may care for the same person for months or years. But, it is more likely that you will travel around town each day, caring for 2, 3 or more people on any given day. The other, most obvious, benefit is the ability to really make a difference in someone's life in a way that you cannot do with many other types of jobs.

3. Know that this type of work is not for everyone

Working in this industry can be very physically and mentally demanding. For example, you can find yourself heading home each day with a sore back due to having to lift the person you care for into bed. Also, the people for whom you care may not always be friendly or in a good mood.

4. You must receive training

You must receive training and pass a test to prove that you are competent to work in this field. Most training is "on the job training" and is conducted by registered nurses or other medical practitioners. Training does not exceed 75 hours in most cases.

5. You do not need a high school diploma to get a job

Never got your high school diploma? No worries! Working as a home health aide or home care aide does not require that you have one. Just complete the training and pass the competency test and you will be on your way!

If you need a job and have considered working in this industry, make sure you understand the requirements, benefits and difficult parts of this line of work. Armed with the right knowledge, you can make the right decision about whether this is the career for you.

Health Benefits of Taking a Vacation

Taking vacations allows time for relaxing and enjoying yourself in being free from your everyday responsibilities at home and at the office. It is your moment to travel and explore the world. Vacations also bring unforgettable memories that will last for a lifetime. Making good memories is good for the soul. You will not only enjoy it, but also become mentally, physically and spiritually healthy.

Before giving you the importance of vacation, here are some tips on how to take a vacation:

Mental Health

1. Make sure you have a vacation budget.
2. Let your boss and colleagues know it early.
3. Reserve your flights and hotels early.
4. Pack light.
5. Enjoy the planning and packing as part of the overall experience
6. Leave your phone and laptop home.

Specialist Corner

Studies show that taking a vacation can lessen the risk of dying from coronary heart disease and help live a healthier life.

Experts consent that people who seize their health seriously should also learn to take vacation time seriously. Researchers from the State University of New York at Oswego conducted a survey of more than 12,000 men ages 35 to 57 who had participated in a large heart disease prevention trial. The results, presented last March at a meeting of the American Psychosomatic Society in Savannah, suggest that men who take vacations every year reduce their overall risk of death by about 20 percent, and their risk of death from heart disease by as much as 30 percent.

When the mind feels pressured and blocked with ideas, the effects on the body can be undesirable. One very important characteristic of mental health and well being is simply setting set the time to allow your mind to do nothing. It is in the method of not being hectic that one is free to reflect, deliberate, refresh and generally be grateful in the world around you - a world which you are usually to busy to recognize.

When the Doctor says Rest

When you get sick, the most common thing you hear from your doctor and peers is to get plenty of rest. This was meant exactly that. Rest, with no activities suggested whatsoever. The art of doing nothing when you are unwell drains your mind from noise and hassle of the world. As stress and depression rise, having a time for regular outings and vacations can give you some solutions to maintaining a healthy condition.

Many people plan a vacation wherein fast paced activities are planned everyday for the week. Therefore, the vacation often ends up being as demanding as the job that you left behind. A lot of people evoke the feeling of being crushed by the time they have got back from their holiday, and this is the point. In order to get the bursting health benefits of a vacation, it is important for you to do as little as possible and set aside the time to relax your mind and soul that you need to replenish so you can return home feeling rejuvenated.

Take it Easy and Unwind

Idleness is often sulked upon in modern society, yet it is a significant part of your human mental health. It allows you to collect thoughts, to expand your viewpoint, and to alleviate anxiety. A certain amount of being idle is essential to a happy, contented life.

The ultimate tool in stress management is relaxation. Whether you take a siesta in a beach chair or snore beneath the stars, you will feel that you sleep better on a vacation. Your mind and body calm down when you adjust your focus and your pace.

One great way to relax is by reading a book especially when you fall asleep doing it. Fishing is somewhat of a reflective activity. Trying innovative sports like surfing and bowling may not be soothing but may suggest benefits to your health and well-being. No matter how active or inactive your vacation is, your mind will take it easy and your body will unwind. Basically, do the things you love, the things that bring meaning to you in your life, and see if you can mix it with the quiet and calm down time you need with the adventure side of yourself.

Explore Your Options

A vacation will give you the chance to see new places and seek new adventures. Some may take a trip abroad and explore the wonderful things beyond in search of discovery. Others may spend their vacations camping and hiking in mountains nearby. Still others prefer to volunteer in an activity in their community. There are a lot of choices to pick from. Choose what's best for you and for your health. The goal is to get out of your stress and daily obligations and take care of you.

Orthomolecular Medicine - A Leading Light For Mental Health and Nutrition, Mental Diseases

Are we in The Dark Ages? When it comes to mental health diagnoses in the 21st century, it often seems that way. Yes, drugs can help extreme symptoms, but with a 10% 'success' rate, modern drugs seldom help anyone truly recover. Parents and other family members of those with serious mental diseases are often at their wits' end.

Too many people are suffering-not getting well on present day "medication only" policies of mental wards of our leading hospitals. Seldom do patients' physical health get investigated for deficiencies of healthy nutrients such as B12, other B vitamins, Vitamin D or Omega 3 fatty acids, bowel problems, food allergies or mineral deficiencies, such as zinc.

Mental Health

Thousands of accounts of deficiencies affecting mental health can be found in respected journals and daily newspapers: Vitamin D preventing depression, Omega 3 fatty acids helping to prevent suicides and post-partum depression, food allergies affecting mental health and children - triggering ADHD, hypoglycemia causing anxiety, bipolar or other symptoms of mental disorders.

What Early Research Supports Healthy Nutrients for Mental Health?

In the early '50's Abram Hoffer, MD, with a PhD in biochemistry conducted double-blind studies for the treatment of schizophrenia. Hoffer headed up a research team of 30 in four mental hospitals and three psychiatric wards in Saskatchewan, Canada. Eight double blind studies came out of this extensive research that showed that certain B vitamins, especially niacin, B3 could help schizophrenia. Forty years of research can be found on orthomed.org about orthomolecular medicine to treat mental disorders and physical illnesses.

Schizophrenia symptoms including paranoia and other serious symptoms were reversed in 80% of cases within two years if the patient was started on the treatment of B3 (niacin). Along the way, other protocols natural to the body were researched by medical scientists and added for even more benefit. These treatments are inexpensive and effective and can be added to medication with better outcomes.

Dosages of dietary supplements depend upon each individual's tolerance and needs and can often change over time. (Niacin can cause a flush in the body, but is not dangerous. There are non-flush formulas.) Symptoms of bipolar, depression and anxiety can also be lessened.

Is Orthomolecular Medicine Used for Mental Health Disorders?

Orthomolecular medicine, a term coined by Linus Pauling, double Nobel Laureate involves treatment by optimizing health and treating disease by providing correct amounts of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, essential fatty acids and other substances which are natural and essential to the human body.

Your body is powered by your dietary intake - nutrients. There is no steel plate cutting off your brain from your body. The brain is 60% fat and it needs quality fats, vitamins and minerals to thrive. Those eating deep fried foods such as French fries need information on eating healthy. Rancid fats get lodged in our bodies in places where healthy fats should be to power the body - especially the brain.

Why Don't You Know About Mental Health and Nutrition?

Vitamins, minerals or other natural substances can't be patented. No vitamin sales people knock on physicians' doors with free samples. Also, nutrition is low on the list of subjects in medical schools. However, orthomolecular psychiatrists or other health professionals check for many nutrient deficiencies as possible causes for mental disturbances. Abundant Information is available about nutrition health benefits.

What Physical Problems can Affect Mental Illnesses?

High or low blood sugar levels cause mental symptoms to peak. B12 deficiency causes confusion, fatigue, weakness and severe mental symptoms. Anemia (low iron levels) is sometimes confused with dementia. Low thyroid has been shown to be common for those with schizophrenia. Low levels of Vitamin D stores directly relate to depression. Those with mental illness often have food allergies or digestive problems.

Some fear that vitamins in high dosages are "not safe". View testimony before the Government of Canada, House of Commons Standing Committee on Health, regarding nutritional supplement product safety (Ottawa, May 12, 2005). Ignorance abounds on the subject of vitamins.

Our society needs to restore the lost minds of people who suffer episodes of mental health problems. The lucky ones who recover using orthomolecular treatments can become productive members of society. They can enjoy life and contribute.

Let's end the dark age of treatment of those with mental diseases. Contact The International Schizophrenia Foundation and the Journal of OrthomolecularMedicine and help those desperate for recovery to step into the light.

Mental Wellness 101 - What Is Mental Health To You?

Mental wellness is determined by how the mind, spirit and body are related and how well they are in functioning together as a unit. It does not alone mean disease absence but how good the three are in achieving goals set by an individual. The three are what make up a personality and determine how successful and reasonable one is towards life. Wellness mentally therefore involves physical and spiritual stability of an individual. There is no way you can separate the three as they work hand in hand in dealing with life for they all seek to explain what is mental health.

For you to be termed as mentally well, you must be active in thinking and have the ability to create and experiment. This in turn means that you can be in a position to determine a problem and work towards solving it. The ability to think also helps you in dealing with social conflicts that may come your way. You must also keep in touch with your emotions and feelings. This means that you have the ability to express any negative or positive feelings you may be going through effectively.

Mental Health

You will know that your mental status is well when you have control over your beliefs and goals. You should realize that your skills and efforts are worthwhile giving you all the satisfaction you need. This depends on how positive you are towards life and how confident you are with the things you do and the things you face with each passing day. The creative part of you will allow you to have joyous moments as well as the ability to achieve serious tasks while having fun.

A person who is well mentally will not have a hard time in socializing with people around as he or she is fully aware of the social side of his personality. You are only as strong as you feel and as successful as you want to be. If you are afraid of forming relationships, you will end up leading a life that is tasteless. You should be in a position to take good care of yourself both physically, mentally and spiritually by engaging in activities that cater for these areas of life.

To be mentally well, there is a need to develop positive attitude towards life if things are to work to your advantage. People who are too choosy or are hard to please find they lack in certain areas of life which can amount to mental instability even without them noticing it. You have the ability and control to set your mind in a positive direction in the end giving you the mental stability you need to be successful in life.

In explaining what is mental health, then one can conclude mental wellness being a matter of how well you can handle the things that face you and how good you are in dealing with all sorts of situations without the need of feeling helpless or lacking to do what is required. With the right attitude and focus on the things that matter most, you will for sure achieve any height you would like on the success ladder molding you into what you desire to be.

Insurance Coverage for Mental Health Issues

In 1996, the Mental Health Parity Act was passed in order to protect the proper insurance coverage for Americans with mental concerns. For many citizens who receive Social Security and associated medical coverage through their work, receiving equal coverage for their mental concerns was problematic. The public perception of mental health issues is not equal to the perceptions of other bodily diseases. This varied opinion has been expressed through insurance coverage that provides limited coverage for mental issues. The Mental Health Parity Act works to redress that situation.

Many Americans suffer from mental issues that require medical attention, doctors visits, and prescription medication just like any other health concern. It is crucial that, if you receive medical benefits through your company, that your complete health concerns are covered as well. The Mental Health Parity Act worked to ensure that an equal annual or lifetime limit of expense is extended to cover mental concerns as well as medical health issues. This also includes other retained rights that may be associated with a general medical expense.

Mental Health

Though there are a few exemptions included in this Act, its purpose is to ensure that insurance providers and companies that may control that insurance do not reduce the benefits to their employees or former employees based on the nature of their illness. Mental concerns can be as detrimental to the life and happiness of a patient as medical concerns. One important restriction included in this act is an exemption for mental health-related concerns regarding substance abuse or chemical dependency.

An Analysis of The Relationship Between Art and Mental Health

To understand how art is utilized in mental health you'll have to think of art as a constitutive subject, an essential element in interpersonal communications. Art doesn't exist for the sake of its own existence, but for the sake of interpersonal communication. In art, both artist and observer are participants. Although it is the artist that originally imbues their work with meaning, it is the observer who discovers its meaning. It's the observer who must break the artist's work down into its disparate parts, decipher its hidden code and piece that code together into a coherent sentence or paragraph which the arts reason for existing is stated. Consciously and unconsciously, it's through art that those dealing with mental illness create insight into their existence.

It is through their art, that qualified art therapists are able to determine what underlying issues are at the root of an individual's mental illness. Thus; their art acts as an indicator/confirmation of which mental illness they may be suffering from due to certain mental illnesses' ability to affect an individual's perception and expression. Thus, the art of a mentally ill individual is capable of being utilized as a road map which assist art therapists in determining which physiological and psycho-emotive issues need to be dealt with in order to return an individual to wellness.

Mental Health

Most individuals dealing with mental illness experience some form of impairment in their ability to intentionally communicate their instinctual desires through repressed thinking. This is because individuals suffering from mental illness may lack the ego integrity ( strength of mind and connection with reality) necessary to censor and harness the energy of their instinctual desires (emotions and sensations) while transforming them into coherent thought/spoken concepts or ideas. However, artistic expression allows individuals possessing mental illnesses to express their instinctual desires in a constructive manner without being forced to censor their thoughts, feelings, or instincts in a non-restrictive pattern of expression.

This is important because censoring can cause an individual to shut down and become incapable of communicating with others due to their frustration with being unable to convey their thoughts as quickly as they emerge.

Thus; for those that are mentally ill, art or the act of art becomes a non-threatening means of communications for the mentally ill and their artistic observer/therapist. This allows a mentally ill individual to communicate freely without reservation and feel comfortable with expressing their mental landscape thoughts, feelings and dreams to the art therapist who interprets the meaning of these phenomena into a meaningful representation of their clients' inner-world; this further assist the art therapist in determining underlying issues responsible for their clients' conditions and what issues may be agitating or preventing them from returning to health.

Thus, it's after the creation of art as a finished product that an observer/art therapist becomes a participant in the client's artistic process through attempting to discover both its latent and manifest meaning. It's through joint participation of artist/client and observer/therapist that both are brought together in developing its meaning. It's through this process that the artist/client is given value or validation by the participating observer/therapist and that both process and observer are internalized by the artist; the client takes the therapist and their reaction to their art into themselves and is either positively or negatively affected by it. Thus; the therapist's reaction to their art will either assist in returning the client to health or delay it. In short, a therapist reaction to their client's art and their ability to praise and/or critique appropriately will assist their client in developing insight, self-esteem and connection to reality.

Without this interpersonal process between client and therapist, art in and of itself possesses no innate value associated with a client's healing unless it is to release the instinctual energy pent-up within the psyche of those who are mentally ill through various creative outlets that de-energize the unsatisfied instinctual impulses responsible for the agitation of a client's concomitant emotional states. So to the artist/client without the involvement of process and observer/therapist, art and its creation lacks value and is discarded by the client. Without process and observer it becomes another expression of unmet instinctual desires that the artist desires to alleviate, but unable to do so becomes even more frustrated. In short, without a voice and a listener those suffering from mental illness become shut off from others and reality while experiencing frustration, and anxiety. It is through art, its process of creation and the presence of an interested observer that this is prevented and remedied.

Because art and the creation of art gains value through collective participation by both artist and observer; it becomes a constitutive subject which is internalized by both artist and observer, and then possesses the power to heal through the internalization of process and observer. It's this process that is invaluable to individuals dealing with mental illness, and brings about healing much in the same way as rationalized therapy, therapy in which disciplined rationale thought is applied, otherwise known as talk therapy where the observer/therapist and client develop insight and alleviate the client's anxieties through developing cognitive behavioral procedures that deal with the client's internalized conflicts or unanswered instinctual desires. The difference is that through art and the process of art there is an ability to create a public record of the psycho- emotive state in which both therapist and client engaged in during their time together. Thus; structured art therapy has the potential to assist the mentally ill in returning wellness as it assists them in understanding their underlying problems.

Positive Mental Attitude and Health

Having a positive mental attitude is one of the important aspects of good health. Body and mind work in unity to bring health and well-being. Positive mental attitude, feelings of inner peace and happiness contribute to the proper functioning of the immune system thus protecting us from different illnesses. They can also help us to recover from serious diseases. A research found the link between the mental attitude of cancer patients and the outcome of the disease.

In early 1900s Emile Coue, a French psychotherapist, discovered that repeating positive affirmations can help people improve their health over time. In his free clinic patients were told to repeat during the day "Every day in every way I am getting better and better". This actually influenced their physical health.

Mental Health

It is not an impossible task to develop a positive mental attitude if you can approach it as any other negative habit that needs to be changed. To change a habit you need to replace it with another habit. In this case it is positive thinking.

One of the ways to develop positive thinking is repeating positive affirmations in your mind. Write down positive affirmations for your particular situation and learn them by heart. Repeat them to yourself several times a day. Whenever you catch yourself thinking negatively start repeating your positive affirmations. Keep repeating them even if you don't believe what you are saying. Persist in repeating positive affirmations and you will start believing them. You will also notice that you feel better: all of the sudden all negative emotions disappear.

Another way to change the way you feel and hence the negative thinking is doing what the old sayings, like "keep your chin up" or "smile and the world will smile with you" tell you to do! The mere fact of keeping your chin up will change the way you feel.

Exercise is an excellent promoter of positive thinking. Whenever you feel negative do some stretches, walk or run and you will notice that your negative emotions disappear. Dancing is another way to dispel the negativity.

These simple techniques can help you develop a positive outlook to life and hence improve your health.

The Independent Consultant As a Mental Health Consultant in Early Childhood Settings

The goal of a mental health consultant who works in early childhood settings is the promotion of mental wellness and encouragement of positive social relations in children.

A 2005 study by Yale University's Ed Ziglar Center in Child development found that 6.7 children per 1000 are expelled from preschool every year, three times the rate of expulsions in kindergarten through high school. However, preschool teachers who have access to mental health consultants are about half as likely to expel a child compares with teachers who lack such support based on a report that looked at 3,898 preschool classes in 40 states.

Mental Health

Another recent study in 89 classes conducted by the Tulane University's Institute of Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health link the mental health help offered there to improved behavior and learning and more cheerful classroom climates.

The mental health consultant, in early childhood or preschool settings, helps small children to learn the lifelong social and emotional skills they need. Children have to learn how to get along with people, to respond to them appropriately, and to acquire an awareness of how their actions affect other people and how other people's actions affect them. To be more specific, they need to learn cooperation, self-control, confidence, independence, curiosity, empathy, and communication. Also preschoolers need to learn how to inhibit impulsive behavior, become thoughtful, interpersonally sensitive, goal-oriented, respectful of other's space and belongings, and to develop friendships.

In addition, the mental health consultant identifies children with special needs which have often resulted from violence, abuse, prenatal substance abuse, losses due to incarcerations or death, or living in foster homes or with multiple care givers. In the course of a work day, in addition to scheduled meetings with parents, the mental health consultant carries out classroom observations for assessment and evaluation, insure supportive responses in meeting the children's needs and conduct scheduled staff development workshops focused on strategies for dealing with behavioral and attention problems.

The Mental, Physical and Spiritual Health Benefits of Nature Photography As Your New Hobby

The primary reason you should take up adventure nature photography as your new hobby is that it promotes physical health and wellbeing. Physical health is important in all of our lives, and often it is difficult or mundane to force yourself to exercise in a repetitive routine. Many Americans suffer from obesity and a lack of physical activity is the cause for this disease. Taking up an active hobby such as adventure nature photography helps promote physical exercise in a unique and interesting manner. When I began gathering nature pictures and taking little hikes with my son in 2004, I weighed in at over 270 pounds. I was seriously out of shape, but now I weigh in at a trim 180, and have lost 90 pounds doing something fun and exciting.

Another important reason you should consider adventure nature photography is mental and spiritual health. Thousands of people suffer from anxiety and depression all over the world, and this is often caused by a lack of perspective in what really matters. If you take up adventure nature photography as your new hobby, the cares and concerns of work, school and the everyday stressful tasks of life will begin to melt away as you focus on the beauty and peaceful creation all around you. When you consider the way that God takes care of his creation, and that nature does not stress and worry about money or about what is going to happen tomorrow, we can then possibly begin to believe that he will, in his own way and time, take care of us even more than he does the animals and flowers in nature.

Mental Health

One of the greatest benefits of becoming an adventure nature photographer is that it will give you an interesting reason to spend more time with your friends and family. Loneliness can lead to depression and anxiety, and having a friend or a loved one to share a nature photography experience with helps to build and strengthen your relationship. Husband and wife, as well as parent and child relationships, are critical in all societies and cultures; as family is the primary building block of all our lives. I often will consider going to the mountains by myself, and when I picture doing this in my mind I think to myself, "I would be lonely going on my own", so I will ask my wife and kids if they want to go with me.

Although you may be concerned that you will not be able to hike if you are seriously out of shape or have another physical disability. You can begin by walking and hiking just a little at a time (such as walking in your back yard or neighborhood), and this will help you to build strength and endurance. Then again, you may be concerned that nature photography will be too expensive and you simply will not be able to afford a camera or equipment. However, quality point and shoot digital cameras are fairly inexpensive in today's market and you can obtain a high resolution digital camera that is easy to use and operate for less than a hundred dollars.

In conclusion adventure nature photography is an exciting hobby, which promotes physical health and vigorous exercise in an interesting way. When you have an interesting hobby such as nature photography, your focus will begin to see God's provision for creation and this helps you to mentally shift from monotonous daily routines, thus relieving stress and anxiety. Quality friend and family relationships are critical in all of our lives, and often an interesting reason to spend quality time together is all that we need. So, If you suffer from physical, mental or even spiritual health issues; and would like a way to spend more time with family and friends, you should consider adventure nature photography as your new found hobby.

Who knows, maybe if you take up adventure nature photography as your new hobby, it may develop into a small home business for you as well.

Positive Mental Health - 5 Tips On How To Replace Negative Thoughts With Positive Thoughts

Developing positive mental health is essential for daily living. It will help you in every aspect of your life; such as in your home life, work life as well as social life. You already know that right, because that is why you are reading this article. What you want to know is. How do I replace my negative thoughts with positive thoughts?

For a start you will need to stop calling them, 'my negative thoughts', you could replace it with 'that negative thought' do not take ownership of them, and start taking ownership of your positive thoughts.

Mental Health

So to help you to be able to do this, I have compiled a list of 5 things you can do that will help you defeat these negative thoughts, and turn them into positive ones.

1. Take your thoughts captive. What do I mean by this? Firstly you need to start to think about what you are thinking about. Realize that you have control over what you think. You need to catch yourself thinking negative thoughts, and replace them with a more positive perspective that fits with your particular situation. Imagine you have a problem with road rage, and someone cuts you off; now take a look at your usual reaction to this situation. What usually goes through your mind? I bet it is something like, that person could have killed me, can't they drive, why don't you look where you are going you Idiot. Am I right? We need to look at the truth of the situation not just the facts. What do I mean by this? The "fact" is they cut you off but the "truth" is no one was hurt.

I used to suffer road rage, when ever any one cut me off I would yell rant and rave. One day I was driving and an old woman cut me off. I went into my usual tirade of verbal abuse, because it had become a habit, and suddenly it occurred to me, "who am I affecting by yelling at the other cars. That person is blissfully unaware that they just cut me off. Who am I hurting" it occurred to me the only person that I was hurting was me so I thought "well at least no one was hurt, and I get to see my family again" I practiced this in my mind several times a day, and the next time someone cut me off I felt my anger begin to rise, and because I had practiced it in my mind it was easier to control how I reacted. It took about three months till I finally gained victory over these thoughts but now someone cuts me off and I do not even react.

2. Rehearse and Practice: Along with taking your thoughts captive and replace them with a positive perspectives, you will need to begin to rehearse them in your mind as often as you can. Remember to look at the truth of the matter not the facts. The practice and rehearse aspect is the most important part of gaining victory over negative thoughts. You cannot successfully replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts until you break the habits that have plagued your thoughts for years. Rehearse the positive perspective with the situation that occurs in a regular basis.

3. Think of situations that usually cause you to become negative, and replace them with a positive perspective before it happen. This will prepare you to react more appropriately the next time that negative situation comes up again. Continue to practice the positive thought three to five times per day. That way when that negative situation comes up you will know the best way to react. Obviously you will not be able to think of every scenario that gets you angry, but once you do start the process you will find as you get better at doing this, it will have an overflow effect in other areas. But if you find that you have reacted really well a number of times then you accidentally blow it, it is alright, do not beat yourself up about it just remember this can happen, and it is just your old habits trying to creep in. Do not give up just because it happened a couple of times, just practice the positive perspective more often until you can think of it automatically.

4. What if you think negative thoughts about someone close to you? For example your husband or wife, and it's destroying your relationship with that person. Well you need to find something positive about that person, and think about that. Think about how to do something nice for them that you know they will appreciate. Because even if that person does not appreciate it at first, and if you continue to do nice things for them you will begin to feel better about yourself. Think about what first attracted you to them. What was it that you first liked about them? Begin to think positive thoughts even if it is something as small as you like the way the person wears their hair, or you like the clothes they are wearing. Regardless of what it is just think something positive about them. You will begin to see them in a fresh light

5. Do not beat yourself up if you blow it occasionally just get back on the horse and continue to do it. Developing positive mental health does not happen overnight. You are going to have to make it a long-term commitment, in fact, finding the positive perspective will probably have to be a life time commitment. But do not worry it does get easier as time goes on.

If you follow these tips on a daily basis you will find that you whole life will change and you will find that more people will begin to like you because you are now walking in a positive mental health. Remember take your thoughts captive i.e. think about what you are thinking about. Recognise the truth not the facts, and think about the truth of the matter, rehearse and practice the positive thoughts and perspective and make them the new habit in your thought life. Try and think of something positive about other people even if it is something little. and most importantly do not beat yourself up or give up if you blow it because everyone does occasionally. if you remember these 5 tips you will be well on your way to having positive mental health.
